- Talen Energy is a leading independent power producer. Through this transaction it is adding two combined-cycle gas-fired plants in the PJM power market: the Moxie Freedom Energy Center in Pennsylvania and the Guernsey Power Station in Ohio.
- The deal is structured as acquisitions of the two plants for a net purchase price of US$3.5 billion after estimated tax benefits, or about US$3.8 billion gross.
- The acquisitions are expected to close in Q4 2025 and are intended to expand Talen's ability to supply reliable, scalable, grid-supported and regionally diverse low-carbon capacity to hyperscale data centers and large commercial off-takers.
